Our mission
Seeds and Deeds is here to 'cultivate ecological intelligence'. We aim to regenerate the land, build biodiversity, and inspire connection to nature through a holistic farm model that integrates nourishment, living and learning. By combining regenerative farming, education initiatives and ethical living, we foster positive change for both people and the planet.

Our Story

Seeds and Deeds is an eco-enterprise founded in 2021 by Jeewika Bhat while working on Shunya Farm for over three years. What started as a personal journey to live in harmony with the land evolved into a collective effort to revive ecosystems and create lasting impact.
We are inspired by the principles of permaculture, especially the belief that diversity fosters resilience. Anchored by Shunya Farm—the region’s oldest permaculture site—we offer a dynamic range of farm-based services spanning regenerative agriculture, experiential education, and ethical living. These diverse streams form the backbone of a small-scale, self-sustaining, and cyclical farm model designed not just to thrive in itself, but to sow the seeds of change.
Jeewika holds academic qualifications in ecology and environmental management, and brings years of experience in sustainability, carbon reporting, community mobilization, and education. A former Teach for India Fellow, she has facilitated learning programs such as under-18 eco-camps with Sambhaavnaa Institute (Palampur, HP) and STEM-based initiatives for local children in Bir.
Today, Jeewika is the Lead Facilitator of Learning Programs at Seeds and Deeds. Drawing from seven years of experience as a practicing farmer and permaculturist, she keeps her teaching style deeply personal and participatory. She meets each learner where they are, taking into account their individual knowledge, curiosity, and life goals. Her courses are as much about self-discovery and worldview shifts as they are about practical skills—inviting people to reimagine their relationship with land, food, and community.
She also co-facilitates courses at Aram – Center for Evolutionary Leadership (Auroville, TN), and hosts sessions on ecology, eco-feminism, holistic wellness, and ancient Kashmiri poetry—bringing a rare interdisciplinary depth to her work.
