A regenerative legacy

Shunya Farm began on a rented piece of land, part of which was once a garbage dump. Over the years, it has been slowly and lovingly transformed through the dedicated care of multiple stewards. Today, it stands as the only small-scale organic farm in the region to have consistently practiced natural farming and permaculture for over a decade. Rooted in the principles of Fukuoka’s natural way of farming and inspired by Permaculture design, Shunya Farm is a sacred space where regenerative living is practiced daily—through caring for the Earth and all her species, nurturing holistic healthcare, supporting the well-being of people, and cultivating resilient systems that sustain both ecosystem and livelihood.

The farm’s circular layout, modeled on natural patterns, supports cyclical processes such as composting, seed saving, and water management, while ensuring low waste, income security and food security. These regenerative practices have not only restored the land but have created a living example of how small-scale farming can meet modern agricultural needs while remaining adaptive to climate change. Today, Shunya Farm has evolved into a living laboratory and sanctuary for regenerative living—offering nourishing produce, immersive retreats, and hands-on learning and research initiatives that invite others to experience a way of life grounded in care, resilience, and reciprocity.

Sowing Seeds, Reaping Resilience

As dedicated practitioners of permaculture, we at Seeds and Deeds view the land as a living system—one that thrives through balance, care, and thoughtful intervention. We integrate regenerative practices that not only heal the soil but also foster deep ecological awareness, and create sustainable, interconnected food systems.
