A regenerative legacy
Shunya Farm began on a rented piece of land, part of which was once a garbage dump. Over the years, it has been slowly and lovingly transformed through the dedicated care of multiple stewards. Today, it stands as the only small-scale organic farm in the region to have consistently practiced natural farming and permaculture for over a decade. Rooted in the principles of Fukuoka’s natural way of farming and inspired by Permaculture design, Shunya Farm is a sacred space where regenerative living is practiced daily—through caring for the Earth and all her species, nurturing holistic healthcare, supporting the well-being of people, and cultivating resilient systems that sustain both ecosystem and livelihood.
The farm’s circular layout, modeled on natural patterns, supports cyclical processes such as composting, seed saving, and water management, while ensuring low waste, income security and food security. These regenerative practices have not only restored the land but have created a living example of how small-scale farming can meet modern agricultural needs while remaining adaptive to climate change. Today, Shunya Farm has evolved into a living laboratory and sanctuary for regenerative living—offering nourishing produce, immersive retreats, and hands-on learning and research initiatives that invite others to experience a way of life grounded in care, resilience, and reciprocity.

Founded by Dr Spero Latchis, and Robin Jameson.
Anshul and Angelica take on the farm and continue research on farming, soil, Permaculture.
Farm continues to thrive under the combined stewardship of Jeewika and Matasharan, a local farmer who has worked the farm since its inception.
Two years after establishing Seeds and Deeds, Jeewika assimilates Shunya Farm into the enterprise with a broader mission.
The farm evolves into a holistic eco-campus, offering multiple services and initiatives.

Sowing Seeds, Reaping Resilience
As dedicated practitioners of permaculture, we at Seeds and Deeds view the land as a living system—one that thrives through balance, care, and thoughtful intervention. We integrate regenerative practices that not only heal the soil but also foster deep ecological awareness, and create sustainable, interconnected food systems.

Biodiversity
Management & Documentation
A natural farming site for over a decade, Shunya is a vibrant and living repository to this region’s biological diversity. We carefully document and maintain microorganism, plant, animal and insect species that share this land with us.

Seed bank
Food security and sovereignty
Our seed bank is dedicated to preserving heirloom seeds, safeguarding plant diversity, and protecting indigenous, non-GMO food for future generations. These traditional seed varieties empower communities to grow, share, and control their own food systems.
A complete list of available seeds will be released here shortly.

Herbalism
Revival & research
We’re reviving native medicinal herbs that are slowly disappearing from our food systems. We’re also exploring the health benefits of select non-native herbs. Our aim is to empower communities to take charge of their health by reconnecting with natural, accessible, and time-tested remedies.
A complete list of our herbs to be released here shortly.

Regenerative Living
Imbibing & imparting
Grounded in permaculture principles, our intensive workshops and residential courses offer practical skills in farm/garden designing, soil building, waste management, food growing, and holistic well-being—equipping participants to live regeneratively and design resilient systems wherever they are.
